I’ve shared a lot of different financial thoughts over the last few months. Some (hopefully) helpful, some probably just me thinking out loud. But I want to make sure this section is actually useful to you. There are so many areas I could focus on, I want to get your opinion.
What topics should I write about?Investing/Markets
Great Memories Take Effort: The older I get, the more I realize something. Every great memory took effort.
As we enter the holiday season, I’ve been thinking a lot about my childhood Thanksgiving and Christmas memories. The food, the decorations, and the joy of being surrounded by family and friends. It all felt magical. But looking back, I can now see how much of that magic was the result of my mom’s hard work.
She didn’t just throw a turkey in the oven and call it a day. She spent hours planning meals, organizing get-togethers, wrapping gifts, decorating every inch of the house, and creating meaningful traditions that stuck with us. At the time, I didn’t fully appreciate it. Now, I see the sacrifice and I see how it created joy that’s lasted for decades.
It’s a good reminder for me, especially now that I’m the one trying to create “holiday magic” for my own little family. Memories don’t just happen. They require intention. They take effort. But that effort is always worth it.
As we head into the season, I’m holding onto that perspective. The cooking, the cleaning, and the logistics are a lot. But, it’s also what turns a regular day into a memory.
Honey Mama’s Chocolate Bars: If you’re trying to eat “clean” but still love dessert (hi, it’s me), Honey Mama’s bars are a game changer. Clean ingredients. Tastes like fudge. We hadn't had one in a long time, but I grabbed the chocolate cake version on my last Whole Foods run and I want need more. They (unfortunately) don't sell them online so you can see where to buy them here.
