Man in the Arena: I'm going to be honest here. I've got a big hill to climb ahead of me. My next venture which I briefly mention below is going to be challenging. I've gotten feedback from trusted advisors who think I'm taking a somewhat foolish path. Part of me knows they may be right.
But, as strange as this sounds, I just know I'm making the right decision. It might not be the easiest option, and there’s no guarantee it’ll work out, but it feels right. I always find it super helpful to take in advice—especially from people you trust—but at the end of the day, you have to trust yourself and tune out the noise.
It's easy to get caught up in what other people think. There will always be those who sit on the sidelines and critique, even though they’ve never stepped into the action themselves. And that's okay. Just accept it - it's part of human nature. While it’s normal to let doubt creep in, if you believe in your mission, the opinions of those who wouldn’t (or haven't) taken the risk themselves shouldn’t carry too much weight.
In my case, I’d rather look back and know I gave it a shot. Even if I fail, at least I was in it—I wasn’t just watching from the sidelines, waiting for the perfect moment. I took action, and that’s what matters most to me.
I know not everyone will understand my crazy life path, and that’s okay. But in the end, I'm the one living with my decisions, so they should be ones I feel good about, no matter how things turn out.
Whatever your life mission is, I hope you chase it to the fullest. If you have friends or family taking risks, support them.
Some Personal News & An Offer To Help: I wanted to share some exciting news - I’m in the process of launching my own wealth management firm. You’ve probably heard me talk about this a bit over the last year, but now it’s real, and I couldn’t be more excited.
What's my vision? I want to provide high-touch service to a small group of families and holistically support them over the next 20+ years with investing, financial planning, taxes, and estate planning. If you want to learn more, you can check out my website here.
I’m currently onboarding my family as the initial “client”, but I’m still trying to master all this awesome technology I’ve invested in. I’d love to get even more reps and practice—and that’s where you come in. If you’re interested, I’m offering some free support, no strings attached:
Importantly, there’s no sales pitch, no pressure. I’m hoping I can provide value while making me better in this new career. If you ever want to work together in the future, I’m around. If not, that’s absolutely okay. This business is all about trust and so I want to specifically call out that everything we discuss is highly confidential.
If you’re interested in this, you can schedule an initial call here. If you know of anyone looking for wealth management support, I'd appreciate the introduction.
My Latest Dessert: I may have just discovered the greatest dessert known to humankind. And by “discovered,” I mean I probably saw a version of this on the internet, ignored it, and then had a eureka moment while staring into my pantry looking for a late night snack. Either way, I feel like I’ve cracked some kind of dessert code. The best part, it has fruit in it so it must be healthy.
Here’s how you make it: Take a banana (a perfectly ripe one—none of that green nonsense). Slice it in half. Sprinkle on some chocolate chips. Drizzle peanut butter over it like you’re Jackson Pollock. Then, pop it in the microwave for 30-45 seconds until everything turns into a melty, gooey masterpiece. If you’re feeling fancy (or just want to impress yourself), throw some coconut flakes on top.
And just like that, you’ve got a dessert that tastes like something a high-end restaurant might charge you $18 for, except it took you less than a minute to make and required absolutely no culinary skill.
I’ve had it three times this week, and I regret nothing. If you try it, let me know. Even better, send me a picture of your creation. Just don’t blame me if you suddenly start keeping an emergency stash of bananas, chocolate chips, and peanut butter in your house.
